Together At Last

Today was the first day Rufus & Cai were put in the same pasture. She had been in the pasture beside him so they could slowly adjust to each other. Everything went great and they spent a lot of time galloping around.

Rufus - New Playmate

Today Rufus got a new playmate named Cai (formerly known as Angel). She's an 8 month old pinto whose just the right size for him. Below are some pics of her.

3 Months + A Few Days Old

Baby R is now 3 months & a few days old.

We measured him yesterday and he weighs 333 lbs and is 12.2 hands tall.

Visit from the Farrier

Today was Baby R's first time getting his hooves trimmed. He did pretty well with 3 of them, but put up a little fight about having his last hoof trimmed. Eventually he decided it wasn't going to hurt him, so he gave in.

Baby R. - 9 weeks old

WOW! Time goes by so fast! Baby R. is now 9 weeks old. We measured him yesterday and he weighs 287 lbs & is 12.2 hands tall. Sorry I haven't been able to update lately, I'm going to get more pictures of him tomorrow and will post them then.

Baby R. - 6 weeks old

Baby R. is now 6 weeks old. He weighs 227 pounds and is 11.2 hands. He is finally starting to shed his baby coat and it makes him look like he has racoon eyes. The coat underneath is a very dark red like his father's.

Baby R. is now 5 weeks old. He weighs 198 pounds and is 11.1 hands tall.

20 days old

Baby R. is now 20 days old and getting bigger everyday. He experienced his first lightning & thunderstorms today and got spooked. After he heard the first CRACK, he didn't leave Camilla's side until he was back in his stall - safe and sound. Since he has gotten his teeth, he tries to eat everything he sees.

"Aunt Parcheesi"

"Aunt Parcheesi" was added to the same pasture as Baby R. and Camilla for the first time. The baby seemed very curious about her and followed her around.

Today was Baby R's first day out of the stall! He was very curious and followed Camilla around the pasture most of the time. He also met his "Aunt Parcheesi" who was in the pasture beside him.
